About Me

I am Catherine Byrd, owner of Proper Peach Monograms- a custom embroidery business based in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am married to soulmate John & mama to 3 boys -my oldest son, Bennett, being my inspiration for starting Proper Peach! I am a bit of a gypsy, having lived in 10 states and ALL over the country as a child. However, I was born in Georgia, and will always be the "Georgia Peach" of my family! Family is everything to me, and I am so lucky to be surrounded by 3 older sisters, who have given me 6 amazing nieces, and a younger brother as well! 

Many moons ago, I thought it was my dream to work in healthcare and I worked for 5 years in direct patient care, working in both home healthcare and orthopedic and women's health units. A few painfully sad experiences led me to ultimately change my path and graduate with a bachelor's degree in business from Wingate University.  Not truly knowing what my goal was, just knowing that my heart couldn't handle the ups and downs of healthcare! As fate would have it, just a couple of years after making that decision, I bought my first embroidery machine and never looked back! I am SO glad I took the road less traveled, because it put me exactly where I needed to be. 

I am beyond grateful to my customers (many of whom have become friends!) for supporting my small business and hope that that is conveyed through my work, and commitment to good customer service.
